The MUT has, once again, contacted the Secretariat for Catholic Education on the issue of church school laptops. It stated that despite discussions and assurance that the said laptops will be provided to all grades, the Union is informed that church schools are still unaware about any direction or funding to acquire the said resources. Following an introductory meeting held last Friday with the Secretariat for Catholic Education, the MUT has requested the commencement of negotiations on the new Collective Agreement for Church Schools so that these are held in parallel with negotiations on the Sectoral Agreement for State Schools.

Following discussions with Dr. Cuschieri and the Secretariat for Catholic Education, a way forward for the issues relating to the literacy team was found. The MUT is henceforth lifting the directives on this issue. Members are to notify the Union in case of any incident which they feel is out of place.
