MCAST reform not yet reflected in legislation
The MUT wrote to the Minister for Education and Employment to draw his attention that the MCAST reform has not as yet been reflected in legislation, at least where it comes to the Council of Institutes (COI). It appears, however, that MCAST has decided to include persons in COI that are not referred to in legislation. Therefore in light of this, the MUT is asking the Minister to urgently amend the legislation to reflect current realities, to increase academic staff representation from two persons to five to reflect better the spectrum of needs of academic staff, to balance a bit the considerably large number of administrators on this Council, and to adhere to current provisions until changes in legislation are made.
