St Angela kindergarten schools – a model of malpractices
The MUT is denouncing malpractices with regarding to transfers of educators at St Angela Schools in complete disregard of the practices in place and agreed upon with the Secretariat for Catholic Education. Decisions are being taken in complete disregard of the wellbeing of educators and of children attending these schools. The union is issuing this statement owing to repeated instances of irregularities instituted by the management of St Angela kindergarten schools which culminated in transfers of educators carried out before the start of the school year. A conciliation between the union and the management facilitated by the Directorate of Industrial and Employment Relations acknowledged the malpractices and proposed solutions going forward but failed to address the current malpractices. The union is protesting about these malpractices and is in communication with the highest church authorities. The MUT is requesting also the Education Ministry to carry out a review (school audit) of these schools.
