Recognition of supply years – Supply Teachers already possessing the full teaching qualifications
The Union has been involved in discussions with the Education Ministry on the recognition of supply years in accordance with the respective clauses of the sectoral agreement. The latest discussions involved the recognition of the total years of teaching as supply grades for those regular teachers who were already in possession of the full qualifications to teach but were employed for some time as supply teachers. An exercise is being carried out to identify these teachers to carry out any salary/scale adjustment which may be applicable.
Regular teachers who were initially employed as supply teachers although they were fully qualified teachers (with the B.Ed (Hons) or PGCE) are invited to contact the union to follow their respective case by emailing info@mut.org.mt.
