MUT declares a Trade Dispute with the government (MCAST)
The MUT has declared a trade dispute with the government (MCAST) on the financials of the new MCAST agreement. Government tabled its first financial proposal to MUT on 19th April and this only occurred following an ultimatum by MUT. This proposal was deemed unacceptable to the union. A request by the MUT to receive an updated financial proposal was not acceded to and government has confirmed the same proposal. The MUT informed the government and affected members that it is declaring a trade dispute. The MUT shall announce industrial actions in the coming days depending on the reaction of the government.
