Update on negotiations of the sectoral agreement
Please find the latest update about negotiations. Following the strike carried out on 27th November whereby MUT gained the overwhelming support of members to proceed with negotiations, MUT and the government resumed negotiations through a series of meetings. Negotiations focused on financials whilst others discussed the conditions of work. This is the parallel approach, which is being taken to pursue and conclude negotiations. Progress has been registered in the discussions on the conditions of work and financials, although further discussions are required to seek concrete improvements to be listed in the agreement text. The MUT and the government shall continue with this round of discussions, which shall proceed this month and shall continue in January. Once there are concrete updates at the end of these round of discussions, the MUT shall be updating members about the outcomes. You understand that until then, the MUT needs to remain focused on negotiations, which as expected are not easy. MUT thanks members for the continued support.
