Changes in procurement procedures in State Schools – objection
Whilst the procurement procedures in schools were already very stringent, having to request three quotes for the purchase of items costing over Eur 35, the new directions which have been issued are even more stringent and shall render it impossible to be implemented. Whilst the Eur 35 procedure has been abolished, schools are apparently now being requested to provide three quotes for purchases from one Euro upwards. The MUT is objecting strongly about these new practices and is expecting changes in direction to enable schools to continue to operate whilst upholding the best practices in financial regulations adopted to date.
