Schools cannot ask educators to provide vaccination information
Since decisions about vaccinations are the sole responsibility of individuals, no school management or employer in the education sector can request vaccination details from employees unless this is required such as in the case of a return from quarantine period. The only exception are educators carrying out lecturing or practical sessions in restaurants. These have a separate protocol whereby vaccination is a requirement to attend or to provide such services. Due to data protection, schools cannot retain copies of vaccine certificates. Members who receive any undue pressure to provide vaccination details to schools without the reasons outlined are requested to report the case to the MUT for action.
